About Moon Child
AMARIS RIDDLE - OWNER, CHEF, DECORATOR
I'm Amaris Riddle, the owner and operator of Moon Child Vegan Cakes. Baking has always had a special place in my heart because my mom was a cake decorator throughout my childhood. I would spend my days running around the bakery and learning to bake and decorate from the staff. I've spent the last few years working in and running vegan bakeries here in Dallas. In 2019; I made an appearance on Good Morning Texas, had the privilege of baking for Billie Eilish and her crew while they were in town during her world tour, was nominated for Pastry Chef of the Year by Culture Map Magazine, and had a VegWorld Magazine article written about me and the previous bakery I ran, Sugar Fang Vegan Bakery.
In 2020 I finally decided it was time to start my own cottage bakery, and in 2021 my bakes were featured in D Magazine three times, won Best of Big D's Best Custom Vegan Baked Goods, and got to bake for Tame Impala when he came to Dallas. In the beginning of 2022 I got to bake for The Wonder Years while they were in Dallas and I can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.
Moon Child Vegan Cakes is a cottage bakery located in Far North Dallas, Texas and gets its name from the meaning of Amaris in old Irish.
Our mission is to be a safe bakery for everyone; A portion of our monthly proceeds will be donated to various charities and nonprofits benefitting causes such as racial equality/justice, the LGBTQIA+ community, border family legal assistance, and reproductive rights.
